This variety is one of the more erect multiplex varieties. It stands out with its bright yellow culms with green striping. With a maximum expected height of 25 feet tall, the Alphonse Karr does like to grow with light shade. This shade will help with branches being higher on the culms. It will reach maturity around three years and you can expect the clumps to be around 10 feet wide. This variety will remain cold hardy to the upper teens.

This variety will create an ornamental piece on any property. The Green Hedge can grow to 25 feet tall with an average culm diameter of 1.5”. This variety is perfect for screens because the canes will remain bare on the bottom while the top of the cane has leafed branches which gracefully fall toward the ground. This variety will remain cold hardy to the upper teens.

Royal: Textilis ‘Kanapaha’
This clumping bamboo is found in the Weaver family and can reach a height of 50 feet tall. As one of the largest varieties in the family, the clump can reach up to 20 feet. You can expect the canes to reach 2in in diameter. The Royal will be cold hardy to the lower 20s.

This variety is very popular along the Gulf Coast for its tolerance to both wind and salt. It will grow straight to a height of 35 feel tall and stay in a tight clump of 4-5 feet wide. Seabreeze will have darker green leaves towards the top of the canes, thinning out as it reaches the ground. It prefers to be in full sun and will remain cold hardy to the lower 20s.
Emerald: Bambusa Mutabilis
This elegant and graceful variety will grow to 30-40 feet tall. In a clump, it will remain erect and thinly walled. It enjoys full sun and will then create a lovely vase shape as the top arches outward. It will remain cold hardy to the lower 20s.
Yin Yang: Bambusa Viridflavus
This bamboo makes a great addition to any landscape as it can reach up to 35 feet tall and has beautiful yellow stripes along the internodes. It is a fast grower and its culms will reach 2.5” in diameter. It is cold hardy down to the lower 20s.
